My son got a Lego app for his iphone. I asked him to Lego me. He did. What will they think of next?

I’m not a huge sports fan. Now don’t get me wrong. In high school I played football, basketball, and track. Thinking swimming was an easy sport, I even joined the swim team my junior year and tried to quit after the first practice – (Hey, I’m a sinker!)

The truth is, I just don’t like watching others hit a ball, smash into each other, or scratch themselves on TV. My brother, who seriously considered naming his first son ESPN, shakes his head in disbelief and shame whenever the subject comes up.

However, all that said, I do love the Olympics. I love the excitement that hangs in the air as athletes from all over the globe gather to test their abilities against each other, while couch potatoes across the country assume their position in front of the TV to watch.

For Katherine's 13th brithday we wanted to do something special. So...Debbie took her to Chicago to the American Girl Doll Place for lunch and to get her ears pierced. My little girl is growing up! Sniff sniff...

I’ve boiled down all the great dad songs you suggested into a 13 song CD that I had my son put together on iTunes. In fact, you can download Familyman – Songs for Dads yourself for only $13.17. I can’t think of a better CD to pop in your car or truck to remind you of what’s important.

After six months of saying..."I'm going to start that project soon" I have started. Just cutting out the carboard template was difficult I can't imagine how hard the rest of it will be, but I'm mentally prepared to begin.

Where have I been? I didn't know there was a real honest to goodness "Rocketman." My son Ike (10) and I just spent some time looking and drooling over his rocket flight. Ike kept asking, "How much would it cost to make one of those?"

I’ve been thinking… if cowboys had to check their guns at the door when they walked into a saloon and since my dad wouldn’t let me talk on the phone past 9pm, why can’t we as Familymen write a set of ‘technology’ guidelines and rules, for us as well as our families. Civilization is counting on us.

So my fellow dad, would you help me assemble a reasonable list of technology guidelines? To get you thinking in the right direction, I’ll start the list…
