Familyman Weekly-No Bemoaning

Hey Dad, I’m dragging a little today after my big birthday celebration yesterday, not that we painted the town (especially at my age)…it’s just that every single member of my family, including me, is under-the-weather. It’s nothing serious, just the…

Family Advent Nights

We started having family Advent nights a dozen years ago. We got the idea from my sister-in-law. We had the fun stuff down pretty pat, but we had been wanting to do something that focused our family on Jesus’ birth. The advent night does just that, plus the kids love them.

Hey, I’ve got a question. We went to dinner the other night at a Wilson favorite spot. As is often the case at this spot my little kids brough a quarter to spend in the gumball machines near the door (it’s a classy joint). Everything in my cheapskate body screams against wasteing money on those things. My dad never let us do it…and it was good enough for me. MY wife’s dad, on the other hand, almost always let her do it. What should I do?

Here’s what the folks on Facebook said:

What makes a good men’s retreat?

I asked the question: “What makes a good men’s retreat?”

This is what you said…

I want to be able to connect with God, not have a boring speaker. I want long corporate prayer time where the men pour out their hearts to God. I want I want contemporary praise and worship time to connect to God through music. A good Bible time with other men focused on what makes men be men – God, and how to use what’s in scripture in my everyday life. ~ Walter
