Familyman Weekly-No Bemoaning
Hey Dad,
I’m dragging a little today after my big birthday celebration yesterday, not that we painted the town (especially at my age)…it’s just that every single member of my family, including me, is under-the-weather. It’s nothing serious, just the common, congestion-hacking-droopy sails, kind of cold. Hopefully today’s looking a little clearer, and we can pick up a little steam.
Anyway, hope you survived the election. Although it didn’t turn out like I had hoped, the world goes on spinning. Really, no matter who occupies that house on Pennsylvania Avenue, I still have a job to do. I have to get up every morning and be ‘da dad.
I can’t bemoan which party is in control, what the economy is like, or what catastrophe looms on the horizon…I’m still ‘da dad. I have a job to do: to love my wife and to love, train, and prepare my children. Whew…I think it would be easier to bemoan.
So, Dad, if you’re all bent out of shape and gloomy, suck it up and get back in the game. Plan something fun for this weekend. Take your wife out on a date, rent a family movie, or get pizza and have a game night. Then, at the end of your time, thank God for still being in control…because HE is.
No matter what…You ‘da dad,
