Hey Baby, It’s Cold Outside!
Man, it’s cold out there. The good news according to the weatherman is that it’s going to get COLDER. That means I have to tow my son’s car the short distance tot he shop today. Did I mention the nine inches of snow? Bummer.
I think I’m going to have Sam (18) drive one of the vehicles. Just trying to decide which is harder the tow vehicle or the towed vehicle. There really is an art to driving a car that is being towed. Actually, it’s incredibly frightening to me…although I’ve done it many times *one on a day much like today with a tow driver from Hell).
On a brighter note we’re gong to use the cold to head north a few miles for a ice sculpture carving contest tonight. Should be fun and…COLD. I’ve never seen an ice sculptor…but have always wanted to. I’m sure the kids will complain the entire time for making them stand in the cold, but they forget one important fact: Dads are supposed to make their kids miserable.
If it were left to them they would do nothing, see nothing, and spend each day playing Angry Mammals on Stupid Phones.
So, I’m going to make them freeze and give them memories that they can talk about for the rest of their lives, “Yeah, when I was a kid my dad took us to see some ice sculptures and we almost froze to death!!”
Go ruin your kid’s lives…because…
You ‘da dad,
Todd
We had one of those days today! We told the kids to stop complaining about going to this nature preserve or start loosing privileges. We went and had a fabulous time. The kids really enjoyed it and it was surprisingly MUCH better it was than I expected (mom was the one that really wanted to go). They even had a short 4D movie that was very cool. So, if you are in the Tampa area and have a couple of hours to kill, check out the Brooker Creek Nature preserve. Cost was free which made it that much better. But no snow in Florida. We went in short sleeve shirts and shorts.
Ruining kids lives…one day at a time!! Good stuff!!
I helped Dad tow once. He got mad at me because I didn’t do something right and we broke his lariat. I think I was 15 or so. No, I’m not scarred by this memory!! I do agree…towing a vehicle is no fun!
