‘Twas a Few Days Before Christmas

Hey Dad,

The Christmas anticipation is so thick around here I could cut it with a knife. I’m way ahead of the game and have my gifts all wrapped and ready to set under the tree. Of course that won’t happen until Christmas Eve after everyone is tucked into bed.

I think one of the best parts of being a dad is giving gifts to the ones you love most. I’m sure God must feel the same when He gives to us. Just the thought of them opening something “neat” is enough to bring a smile to my face. Of course my wife is terrified that they won’t like their gifts. I don’t feel that way. I know they will like them…because we are the givers and every gift is given in love.

In a little while we’re heading out to Steak ‘N Shake with the wife of my “Tuesday morning McDonald’s time friend.” We’re taking advantage of the happy hour 1/2 price milk shake deal. We did it last year and it was so fun.

Tomorrow we head to my folks for Dave’s Pizza, lots of food, and a gathering of all the Wilson’s. It will be great and I can imagine one day having all my kids and their families home for Christmas. It makes me tear up just thinking of the joy.

Anyway, just want to wish you a merry Christmas in case I don’t get around to it again. You hold that family of yours tight, because this might be your last Christmas.

Merry Christmas,

Todd
