Greetings from Canada…Eh?

OK this has to be quick. I’m sitting in front of a huge old monastery that some friends of ours live in…cool story. Anyway, we just got out of Canada on Sunday and are making our way to Nebraska (need to be there Friday).

In a nut shell, Canada was beautiful. The weather was lousy most of the time but the few sunny days made the sunny days all the brighter.

We spent several days in New Brunswick, two days on Prince Edward Island, and a couple days near Halifax.

While there we were amazed by the tides on the Bay of Fundy, explored the beaches near Shediak, and were in awe of the red cliffs and sandy shores of PEI.

Of course we did some Anne of Green Gables and even I was inspired by all the Lucy Maude Montgomery stuff (she wrote the Anne books).

We sure missed the good old USA. But while we were there we were able to enjoy Tim Horton’s donuts and the fun of spending Lueys and Twoeys (sp.?).

Now we’re bee lining it to Omaha. Things are running well and I sure appreciate your prayers. Keep praying that I’ll be a NICE husband and father.

Happy Father’s Day!

Here’s a bunch of photos of Canada at my son’s blog.

  1. Hey Todd – Appreciated your ministry while in Sussex. It was great to meet all of you. Our kids had a fun time with your family on Sunday.

You were spending Loonies (because of the loon on the coin) and Toonies (because creativity wasn’t important). The best thing about having $1 and $2 coins: your pockets feel like you have more money than you actually do.

Hope you continue to have safe travels. God Bless.

  2. Just started getting the emails from your ministry a few months ago and love it. Helps me keep the proper perspective. Thanks so much for all you do.

  3. Hello Todd, Curious… Where did you come out of Canada at?? I’m glad things are going well. Isn’t it nice to see that American flag on that border patrol officers arm?! Smile!

  4. It was great to meet you and your family at the homeschool conference in Sussex, NB. I haven’t laughed like that in a long time. You sure enlightened my way of thinking. Now just to stay focused! Keep your eyes on the Son! Happy RV’ing! Blessing 😉

  5. Did you buy the kids at least one Kindersurprise egg while you were here? Those are important! 😉

My husband reads your blog. Thank you for encouraging him. I actually only saw this today because I wanted to grab your web address for a new to homeschooling friend to share with her husband. What you are doing is making a positive difference. Thanks!

  6. Had a nice response to the giveaway on my blog.

Funny story: After pulling a muscle laughing at your RV stories at the THSC Conference, the love of my life for 17 years said two weeks ago, “If I change jobs, I was thinking we’d all live in an RV for six months or so.”

After he scraped my up of f the ground, we started looking.

The Q I have for you/your wife: how in the world do you handle the food? The fridges in these RVs is a joke. We have 6 kids, not 8, but still… I can not figure out food and meals as I stare at the toy fridge and oven/range gigs in these suckers.

    TIA!

  7. P.S. Do your kids rotate between one outfit and being naked? That’s pretty much the answer I see to issue of where to store clothes. Maybe you have a different plan?
