Familyman Spotlight – Dante Tremaine

*Name* – Dante Tremayne

*Age* – 34

*Location* – Bristol, VA

*Years Married* – 12

*Number of Children* – 5

*Employment* – I am a marketing and advertising professional. I serve as Marketing Director for “Elixir Media Group”:http://www.elixirgroup.com/ as well as doing freelance work for a number of businesses and ministries (especially homeschool businesses) across the country.

*One thing I did right* – I would say that the best thing I have ever done right as a dad is to put myself and my family under the care and leadership of a good church. I may do a few things right, but I am a sinful man. I need my family to be under the care and wisdom of shepherds so that when I stubbornly and foolishly fail to lead my family, they can appeal to the elders of the church to council me, give me wisdom, and straighten me out. I believe this to be one of the manliest things a dad can do. We are proud of our leadership in our homes, and it takes a lot to humble ourselves and admit when we fall short of leading our family rightly, and to heed the wisdom of godlier men.

*One thing I’d do differently* – Not missing those opportunities to take my children to new places to see new things. Not just vacations, but fun events, like festivals and monster truck shows. I always tell them that we’ll do it when they come back to town, but they never do. When the opportunity arises now, I take it. It makes for great father/child bonding, as well as a time to teach them God’s truths through music, art, and engineering. From now on, a child goes with me whenever I go somewhere and I can bring them along.
