The rut was just around the corner so we both were rattling antlers. I had one big buck come Running in on me so fast It caught me off guard. So I sat there dejected and running the scenerio over and over in my mind and after I quit crying I hit the antlers again.
After enough time to make me start weeping about my missed opportunity I rattled another VERY nice buck in and had plenty of time to get set and just wait.
After what seemed like hours he gave me the perfect shot.

Dads,
We all know how the economy is going nowadays, and probably most of us, if not all, are concerned about the near future, our jobs, and praying hard about it.
Yesterday at church I saw a good buddy of mine, and he was not looking good. So I took him aside and asked him what was going on ( we are accountability partners, and we often go straight to the point, no “how are you ?” between us )
He told me that at his workplace “pink slips” were flying all around him, personnel reduction was the “word of the month”, and he was very worried about his job. He works in IT and was studying madly to get a *very* hard IT certification to make his position harder to get rid of. I understood, since I share his same concern, and I am in the ‘same boat’ so to speak.

At 7:40, I saw a buck 150 yards in front of us walking a ditch bank, slowly working away from us. I debated whether or not to shoot him, as he was what looked like a 6 point in the rain. I kept whispering to my Grandpa, “Do you think I should shoot him? I know it’s a long shot, but he looks like he might be big enough…”. (I was hoping for a bigger buck, because we knew there were a couple of them in the area.) My Grandpa replied, “I don’t know, yeah, let’s shoot him.” I promptly brought up the gun, and made the shot (at 170 yards) as he was walking towards the neighbors property.

Scouting took on the progression to shooting things. Jordan has built an arsenal of K’Nex guns, including semi automatics, shot guns, pistols, rifles, and even a potato gun and hand grenades (the potato gun is pvc, and the hand grenades are K’Nex). When he is up north he can be found searching for the perfect branch with which to make a bow and arrow set.
