One Thankful Papa
Hey Dad,
I’m not sure our Thanksgiving plans are going to come to fruition this year, but I don’t care. I am truly thankful!!
Last Friday, my wife took Maggie Rose (10) to the doctor because of a high fever. They were about to send her home when she fainted…twice. That scared everyone and after a ambulance trip to the ER (where she fainted again), theydetermined that she had pneumonia and kept her over night for observation.
She’s home now…and doing a little better, but we are so thankful. At one point they scared us with some scary “could be” answers…but God was gracious and many familymen prayed…and my little princess is going to be OK. Whew, I’m a happy papa.
It really is a perspective changer. It shows you what matters and what doesn’t. I’ve got plenty of distractions that don’t matter much. My little Maggie Rose matters everything.
Dad, I hope you feel like a thankful papa because you have so much to be thankful for. Oh, I know that you may be in the midst of something hard, but you have MUCH to be thankful for. Don’t miss it.
IN case I don’t tell you before Thanksgiving, let me just say, I’m thankful for you and for being on Team Familyman. I love talking to dads like you who are facing the same kind of stuff we all face…hard marriages, hard kids, hard relationships, the pull of the urgent and success, and those simple pleasures of being ‘da dad.
You are so D!!!
