Maddening!!!

Hey Dad,

It’s the week before Christmas, and I just back from Christmas shopping with my two youngest (Cal and Jed). After dinner I’m heading out with Maggie. Of course they have no money, so Dollar Tree is perfect, but ten minutes in the store can drive even a sane dad crazy.

“Do think Mom would like this?” My son ask having been in the store for ten to fifteen seconds.

“No, I don’t think she really wants a ceramic rock with a  bird painted on it. Try something else.”

“How about this?” he asks thirteen seconds later.

“Hmmm…I’m not sure glow sticks are the ticket, buddy. Try something else.”

It’s maddening!!!!!!!!! But two down and one to go.

The thing is, once you say, “Yes, I’ll take you Christmas shopping.” they hold you to it and remind you that you said you would twenty times a day. That’s why I’m jumping on it to get it over with.

BUT, here’s the deal…in some warped, “That’s so D” kind of way…it’s kind of fun. The intrigue, the secrecy, the creativity, the insanity. And as I have said many time many ways…one day we’re going to miss this.

Got to go eat…next Christmas shopping kid on deck.
