Cartooning Class for Homeschoolers
New!!!!!New!!!!!New!!!!!
Several years ago I drew some of the very first homeschooling cartoons and inserted them into my first book,Help! I’m Married to a Homeschooling Mom. It didn’t take long before people said to me, “I love the cartoons…you should do more.” So I published the first of four volumes called The Official Book of Homeschooling Cartoons. In fact, if you Google ‘homeschool cartoons,’ you’ll find lots and lots of my cartoons that have been passed around the world wide web.
Right after publication of the first book, adults and kids alike started sending me their own cartoon creations. While many contained great ideas, most failed to accomplish what the artist intended…for them to be funny. That’s when I started thinking about what really makes cartoons funny.
What I found was some simple elements that are evident in all cartoons. So I developed a cartooning class for homeschoolers.
Here’s how it works:
– Children register and pay a small $40 fee (per family).
– Each participant will be sent an email with a welcome, instructions, and a LINK to FOUR 30 minute video lessons on “How to Draw a Funny Cartoon.”
– The online video class will focus on…the purpose of cartooning, what makes something funny, a look at different cartoon examples, basic cartoon techniques, how to fill the frame(s), and how to get it onto their computer.
– Students will be given an assignment each week along with access to the videos. Once they finish their final cartoon, they will submit it to me for a critique.
Doesn’t that sounds like fun…and EASY?!
