Familyman Road Trip – The Cozy Dog (Springfield, IL)
Hey Dad,
With spring just around the corner I thought I’d introduce a new little featurette. The hope of warmth has me thinking about hitting the open road with my family and seeing the best of what this great country has to offer. So I thought I’d share some of the best Familyman Road Trip Destinations. Some I’ve been to and some I’m hoping to visit.
The first one is a place that I took the family to last year:
The Cozy Dog Drive-In (Springfield, IL) – the birth place of the corn dog. I’m telling you no red blooded American male can resist a piping hot corn dog on a stick. The Cozy Dog not only serves them up hot…but is also the place where they were invented more than a half century ago.
Located on Route 66 it’s got to be on the list to visit with your family. The place is just like you’d think it would be…lots of Formica table tops, chrome salt and pepper shakers, corn dog paraphernalia plastered on every wall, and corn dogs (or cozy dogs as they call them) to die for.
So there you have it, a familyman road trip waiting to happen.
You ‘da dad,
Todd
PS – Did you know today is the only day with a command—March Fourth!!? That’s about as good as it gets here.
Great idea Todd!
