A Hoarder and Proud of it!!

Hey Dad,

Had a little time today and spent a few minutes cleaning up my office. It needed it. If you combine that fact that I’d be a good candidate for the show “Hoarders” along with the fact that it has been at least a year since I straightened things up, it was time that I did something about it.

Maybe I avoid it because it’s so emotional for me. Unlike my wife who has no problem throwing out…even if it does have great memories attached to said junk.

I on the other hand, just can’t bring myself to throw out anything that my kids have made, touched, or given to me. So I placed all the artwork in a wooden box that sits against the wall of my office. The way I see it, it’s the mark of a life well spent.

While others may accumulate gold, jewels, and shiny cars…I have scribbles of I love you dad, a paper picture fame with shells glued to it, and a long john silver’s cardboard hat from this year’s first snow.

You can’t throw stuff like that out!!!!!!!

Now you can see the top of my desk and the floor at least for a while, but I’m still surrounded by reminders of what I’ve spent my life on…and it is good.

Thought I’d share.

You’da dad,

Todd
