I’m Not Moving On!!

Hey Dad,

Well, the Christmas tree is down and the decorations are packed away in hopes of another year. Actually, putting away all the Christmas heirlooms reminds me once again…that I’ve got issues.

No kidding. I bet I got that lump in my throat at least a half a dozen times as I packed away all the treasures my children have made over the years. There were Christmas placemats, ornaments, and handmade decorations. My children made them when they were little…and now some of them are grown up. How did I get here so fast?

To tell you the truth I’m not really ready for a new year. I’d like to live in this holiday limbo land of enjoying family and life for a little while longer…but it doesn’t look like it’s happening. Still…no one’s going to tell me that I have to move on. So maybe tonight we’ll enjoy a little more of that ‘familyness.’

Maybe we’ll play a few more rounds of Quarkle or make ice cream sundaes…or who knows.

Family is good…but they’re growing up.
