Yabba Dabba Do! The Flinstone’s Turn 50
What you’re about to listen to gives me goosebumps. Everyday as a young child growing up in Indianapolis the sound of the whistle at Fred’s job signaled that my dad was about to walk through the door. It’s hard to believe that the show premiered 50 years ago today. A far cry from Bart and the rest of the gang.
Every Fred needs a Barney or two – “As iron sharpens iron, let one man sharpen another.” Here’s to Yabba, Dabba, and Doing.
We be da’Dads.
Fifty years ago ?? No way it was only yesterday! I know what you were saying about them growing up. My oldest left for college and our house and my heart seem empty now. Thanks for the memories
I got goosebumps too!!!
Cool site Todd!! Look forward to meeting you this month at the CHEACC mtg. 🙂
It is sad that today’s cartoons have parental ratings for them!
Thanks to video, my kids get to watch the classics!
And I’d say Bart is a far cry from this:

All kidding aside, I love the Flintstones. Jetsons, Yogi, even the occassional scooby doo. Most all of the classic pre-1970 Hanna Barbera toons were great and kid safe.
