Greetings from San Antonio, TX
Hey Dad,
It’s been a busy week since I last wrote. While at Springfield, MO we were able to stop at two of our favorite restaurants, Lambert’s Cafe and Incredible Pizza.
Lambert’s is home of the throwed rolls and a tourist trap worth being trapped at. The portions are huge and the atmosphere is wonderful. Incredible pizza is Christian owned and has been the site of Ike’s birthday meal (age 10) for the last four years (think Chuck E Cheese on steroids…without the mouse).
Since then, we’ve been traveling south to San Antonio, TX and then on to Mustang Island State Park. Today, we were to tour the Alamo and stroll the Riverwalk. My wife’s upchucking changed all that and now we’re camped out just two blocks from the Alamo in downtown San Antonio.
Hopefully, my wife will be ‘healed’ by tomorrow so we can get back to letting the good times roll. If not, it’s up to me to be a good husband and make the good times roll.
Just a side note: it rained bucketloads last night and the gasket I repaced on my roof A/C kept every drop out!!! But my toilet still ‘aint working.
Well, I’d better hit the hay. I’m bushed. Here are more photos of our RV Adventure.
Until next time, swing wide and keep your eye on your tail,
Todd – Are you trying to tell us all something? Is this an announcement? =) Thanks for your ministry to Dads (like my wonderful hubby) and illegal readers (like this mom of 7)! We’re praying for you in your travels!
I can’t post a comment on the forum for Dad’s about the checking your wife’s email But wanted to comment from a wifes’s perspective that I agree with you, Todd. Nothing should be off limits. I have an email account I use to get homeschool newsletters, etc.
My husband has my password, just as it should be. Nothing should be secret, you should be one.
If your not, your just asking for trouble.
Take care,
Amy

Todd- I have been reading your newsletters now for almost a year. Very insightful observations….and they seem to come at just the right time. Right now we are back home in Minnesota, but looking at your San Antonio pics and Blog are making us feel a bit nostalgic. You see, We spent September through March traveling the country with our 5 children and 3 dogs…all in a 23 foot travel trailer. Ahh…those were the days. Now it is back to the real world and everything that goes along with it. We are truly Blessed. Keep up the great work…I will live vicariously through your travels.
Hey Todd and family! Welcome to Texas! I hope you enjoy your time here and if you find yourselves in the Dallas area, feel free to look us up, seanr25@aol.com.
Thanks for helping me Be Da Dad!
Praying for you, Debbie!
Blessings,
Katie (another illegal reader!)
Thanks for your forum. Last post was the big buck contest. OK, so now you have inspired me. (or brainwashed). Sold my dental practice, now I have flexibility. Bought a camper, and we are off for a month of bonding (or driving each other crazy). My wife said great things from the KC meeting.
Hi there. Our family will be taking our first RV trip in 11 days … I am sooo not prepared. I’m looking at 6,000 miles for my first time behind the wheel.
Our children are 11, 8, 5, and 3. We’re going to do some homeschooling along the way.
I really need to plan how we will maximize our time with them spiritually.
We’ll be stopping in San Antonio too and do the Alamo. Where exactly near there did you camp for the night?
one block from the Alamo behind the fire station. Park over by the hotel entrance.
