Way to Go, Soldier Dad!

Hello Prayer partners….

I just had to share this little blessing with you!!! My oldest son Gary showed an interest in football for the FIRST time a few days ago and said he wanted to watch the Steelers (my favorite team) in the AFC Championship game. I said it was OK with me if mom said it was ok and she did. IT started at 0030 Germany time…0230 my time….(They had no school today for MLK day of courseÅ )

Well Michelle also set up the Mac in the living room so I could see Gary and he could see me while we “watched the game together’ he on the TV there, and me on the TV here. I also was too far away from my TV here to listen to the sound (my roommate was asleep!) so I just had Gary turn up the TV there and listened to it via Skype!!!

My little buddy made it until 6:30 left in the 4th quarter before he fell asleep in front of the camera. I was able to wake him up when Troy Palamalu returned that INT for a TD…but he only opened his eyes 2 times and I could tell he really wasn’t seeing what I was telling him was happening…and he quickly went back to sleep.

As the game ended I tried to wake him to go to bed…but he wouldn’t budge…so just hung up.

Skype worked for 4:45 mins straight…incredible…like it did Christmas Day.

I felt like I watched the game with my son…what a blessing!

And it almost didn’t happen…I had PLANNED to watch the game in my office where I can not use skype….but our generator was down so I had to watch it in my room! I’m sure glad that happened now!!

God is so good ….it was a real big blessing to me to enjoy some father/son time like this..amazing modern technology!!!

Thank you LORD and thank you all for your prayers for us…they are answered, as you can see, in some of the coolest ways!
