Stuck

OK, if you’ve just come from the Familyman Weekly you know we got stuck on a steep incline. So I won’t repeat all the details. If you didn’t read the account, click here.

Besides being stuck, I’ve finally come to grips with the incredibly high price of gas (although in PA it’s around the $2.85 range). I just decided you can either cut bait or fish. You know, you can either pay the high price or sit at home and wait for the price to come down (which may never happen). Besides, I’ve found that God is bigger than gas prices. So…bring it on Exxon (just kidding…ha).

We visited Johnstown, PA, yesterday, site of the 1889 Johnston flood that killed around 2,100 people. Visited the national memorial where the flood began and stopped in at the Flood Museum downtown. It really reminds you of 911 or Hurricane Katrina. Awesome and sad. One day they’re celebrating Memorial Day and then next day entire families are destroyed and drowned. A good lesson for dads. For a good book to read to your children, read “The Terrible Wave.”

Right now we’re doing our laundry and later we’ll stop at a state campground to take advantage of some down time. Tomorrow we pull into Harrisburg, PA for their humongous state homeschool convention.

Hope all is well with you…thanks for praying,

You ‘da dad!
